How to solve Broadcom SD card reader issue with Linux

I really need this to work, and there seem to be a lot of people having issues with linux and card-readers, but unfortunately I haven’t found a solution yet. Everything works with a little tweaking here and therebut unfortunately the build-in card-reader terrebly fails.
This might happen if the card is not in a bus-master slot. I am not sure if this affects anything, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
