I figured it was just kaput after a long life, so I purchased another.. Looks like there might be some magic voodoo or at least specific firmware versions to make the dlink DWL-G work with a Mac. I downloaded the Prism driver you mentioned from binaervarianz. I also tried the old drivers 1. Please correct me if I’m wrong as I’d love to get it working

Go back to the Dlink Prefs Pane and save the profile so it connects on each reboot.

I also tried the old drivers 1. I couldnt get mine to work, but it picks up the network etc.

Select it in the second drop-down menu and configure it, and the dongle will then be added to the interface list. It works great – even gets better link ewl than on windows with d-link software.
After modified the info. I got the G working nicely on the PC so i know its not faulty.

The device dwo show up in Network Prefs as an ethernet connection but there will be no signal or lights on from the device. I could not figure out how to leave my internal card in and add a network interface for the Buffalo card did strange things like duplicating both entries and could not separately control.
I have no Airport card installed on this machine.
What steps did you go through? Are you able to give a more descriptive detail how you got yours to connect to network?
After R[ing]TFM, or web site The drivers that came with the product as well as the ones directly off D-Link’s support site were quite flaky in OSX. This site is not responsible for what they say.
You’d probably have to have the antennas almost touching for this to happen, but there is a chance. I’m using version 1. I use the Could it be something with the router that’s seeing the device but not letting it connect?

ReelBigLizard on Mar 17, ’05 Turn on root account access, and run the install program from root. Those kernel panics were a huge pain, but I went into Network Port Configurations and unticked the adaptor, and when I unplugged the adaptor there was no multilingual death screen.
