Try rebooting and pressing F1 at the Recovery Needed message. So create first the raid 5 volume withe the F key during boot up of the server, and configure raid there, once done, install OS. This way you avoid problems with flaky drivers and kernel patches, and performance is about the same anyway. How did you wipe the drives? How are the drives connected? Keep in mind a simple “Format” is not really going to do it I think you will need more.
